15 Months

We had our 15 month check-up today, and the doctor said that Owen and Maren are thriving!  We didn't have any concerns about them, but it still feels great to hear that.  It also feels good to put another round of shots behind us. Owen has this whole doctor thing figured out and started crying the minute we entered the clinic.  He fought his way through the whole appointment but was happy as soon as we made it home. Poor little guy!  Maren, on the other hand, just sat back and took it all in.  Our stoic little observer cried when she got her second shot but was instantly distracted by a sparkly band-aid.  She continues to be a little wiggle worm when being measured, however, because her stats show that she is shorter now than she was at her 12 month appointment.  Maybe we'll get an accurate height at her 18 month appointment.

Here are their 15 month stats:

And, here are some pictures of our 15 month olds!

They have both started to enjoy looking at books by themselves (note: the book is upside down).

Feeding Maren's baby.  They both feed the baby every day.

Rolling a ball back and forth is one of Owen's favorite things to do lately.

Friday Favorite

Maren loves to climb on Cooper's bed.  When we ask her not to, this happens. . .

New Things

Owen and Maren do something new every day.  This week, Owen started pointing at the TV and asking to watch his favorite show "Ti Ti Ti" (Daniel Tiger), and Maren decided plain old walking was starting to get boring and tried out walking backward and spinning in circles.  They keep us laughing!

Their other special skills include -
  • Walking!  Maren walks, sometimes runs, everywhere now.  Owen is using the run until I fall and then crawl method.
  • Mooing like a cow- "Mmmmmm"
  • Maren squeaks like a mouse and neighs like a horse.
  • Owen gobbles like a turkey.
  • Reading Moo Baa La La La by yelling, "LA LA LA!"
  • Making Bunny Ears with their fingers to sing Here Comes Peter Cottontail.
  • Saying "Mama" and "Dada"
Here's Maren showing off her walking skills.

When Maren is not toddling around, she is striking sassy poses. . .

or running away after stealing my necklace.

Here's a very excited Owen celebrating his ability to make his toy sing.

When Owen is not celebrating, he is playing with cars. . .

or trying on Dad's glasses.
