Nine Months Old!

Owen and Maren are nine months old!  Unfortunately, they also have their first colds.  There's nothing fun about two stuffy noses, but we're so fortunate to have made it nine months without any illness!

Owen and Maren are both growing like crazy!  Here are their current stats:

These monthly pictures are becoming more of an adventure.  There are three main challenges:
1.  Keep both babies from diving headfirst off the chair!
2.  Prevent hair pulling and scratching (these are unintentional, of course).
3.  Try to distract Maren from the sticker long enough for her to look at the camera.

We started out ok. . .

Then Owen started to think of an escape plan.

He decided that if we wouldn't let him dive off the front of the chair, he would try the side.  So, we moved to the floor.  By then, we had completely lost Maren.  She was determined to get that sticker off!

Cooper joined in the fun.

Owen tipped over and cried.

And, Maren still worked on that sticker!

Storytime and New Talents

Owen and Maren recently went to their first library storytime.  They were a little overwhelmed at the beginning but warmed up when they got to play with new toys at the end.  Maren was thrilled by a bin of colorful scarves, and Owen went absolutely crazy for a tube filled with a variety of yellow objects.  We look forward to going back soon!
Storytime!

Our New Talents

They still tip over once in awhile, but are doing great sitting up on their own!

Maren's makes a fish face.

Owen clicks his tongue (and tries to steal the camera).

Good News and Pictures

Owen has big news to share.  He is done wearing his Cranio Cap!  The flat spot on the back of his head rounded out nicely in just a little over eight weeks thanks to a gigantic growth spurt.  Although we are done with the helmet, we will be saving it so that someday he can look at us and say, "I can't believe you made me wear this!"

In other news, Owen and Maren can now scoot both forwards and backwards on their bellies.  They are faster every day!

Here are some pictures of our little scooters.

We generally try to keep toys and other baby items gender neutral to accommodate both Owen and Maren, but recently Maren got a new, very girly infant-to-toddler rocker.  She thinks it is beautiful!

Owen cannot get enough of Cooper.  Recently, Owen has started to lick things (like the wall and our faces), so he may be spending too much time watching the dog.

Oh, and he likes to look out (lick) the front door, too.  It's gross, but oh so cute!  Check out that front tooth!

Today, Maren showed her Corgi pride.  Her outfit was so amazing even she couldn't stop looking at it!

Finally, Owen and Maren tried on Grandma Colleen's glasses, and we snapped these two silly pictures.
