Six Weeks Old!
I can't believe it has been six weeks since Maren and Owen were born! They are gaining weight every day and even starting to outgrow their newborn clothes. They are starting to sleep for longer stretches at night and having more alert time during the day. When they are awake (and not eating), they love to watch their mobiles and will even stay awake long enough for us to read them a couple of books.
Next week, the babies and I are starting a new mom/baby group through Amma Parenting. It may take hours to get everyone ready, but I think it will be good for us to get out of the house for a bit.
Owen has a question . . .
Where are my sunglasses?

We Survived the First Week Home
We survived the first week home. . . with the help of the very patient doctors and nurses at Metro Peds.
Number of days home - 8
Number of calls to the pediatrician - 5
Number of visits to the pediatrician - 2
I want to point out that one of the visits was simply for a weigh-in. The other visit and calls were all about our darling little girl, who decided not to poop for three days. I think all future mothers should be aware that at some point you may lose sleep worrying about your child's poop. You may also have to use infant suppositories and engage in lengthy, detailed conversations about your child's bowels. It's a good thing babies are so adorable!

Cooper likes to know where his babies are at all times.

Maren might be a wee bit bigger than her brother :)
Maren has had her fill of pictures.
I propped Maren up in a Boppy Pillow today, and she immediately put her hands up under her chin and went to sleep.
Wide awake (and looking for food).
A few minutes after this picture was taken Maren started crying, and Owen slept right through it.
Funny face from Owen
Owen warming up after a bath (he's not a huge fan of baths).
