The Minnesota Zoo

Josh and I took a couple of days off work this week to do some spring cleaning and to spend some extra time with the kiddos.  Thanks to some amazing friends, we have a membership to the Minnesota Zoo, so we brought Owen and Maren there for the first time this week.  It was still a little chilly for the outdoor exhibits, but we all had a great time exploring inside.

We checked out Discovery Bay first, which was a highlight for Owen.  He loves water and could watch fish for hours! There were a lot of excited squeals from the little guy in Discovery Bay.

Checking out the tide pool

Note Owen's hand in the water. . . A few minutes later he had a minor meltdown in front of the penguin exhibit when we wouldn't move the glass and let him put his hand in that water.

After Discovery Bay, we walked the Tropical Trail.  Maren was really interested in all the different trees.

Who needs animals with all these cool trees around?

Lunch Break

A highlight for both kids was playing in the Bee Hive room.

They both loved checking out the mirrors in the "hive."

Considering they are still getting the hang of walking, they did a surprising amount of climbing.

Finally, the aftermath of an exciting trip to the zoo!
