I've been back to work for a few weeks now, and we are all starting to settle into a routine. Our mornings and evenings are pretty hectic, but considering we're dealing with two four month old infants, things could be a lot crazier! I love my job, but going back to work feels a little bit like giving up my dream job. The good news is that I am able to take Wednesdays off and live the dream with my babies. Having a day off to recharge mid-week has been great for all of us. The babies (and I) generally squeeze in an extra nap that day! The rest of the week, Owen and Maren are showered with love and attention by their Grandma Colleen and Grandpa Dave. This arrangement has made my transition back to work so much easier.
The one thing that that does not get any easier. . . strapping two babies into their car seats twice a day. Oh my gosh, I never imagined what a giant pain that would be. I would pay ridiculous amounts of money for a car seat with straps that will never get all twisted, or, better yet, a vibrating car seat. My babies never cry when I strap them into their vibrating bouncy seats.
Now on to the important update. Owen and Maren are really starting to like this whole twin thing! Today, I was feeding Owen, and Maren was sitting next to us in her Bumbo Chair. I noticed that Owen was smiling around his bottle and looked up to see Maren smiling down at him. It was a perfect twin moment!
Here are some other cute moments from the last couple of weeks.
Okay, that pic of them watching "baby tv" is probably the cutest thing I have ever seen.
