Weekend Fun

We had a busy, yet fun weekend.  On Saturday, we met Jenn from Cheesebrow Photography at St. Kate's, where she took the twins' 1-year photos (a few months after the fact).  We wanted to wait for warmer weather, so we could do outdoor photos.  Trying to convince two toddlers to sit for pictures was quite the challenge, especially with ducks to feed nearby, but Jenn was extremely patient with us.  After we were done with pictures, the kiddos did get to feed the ducks and check out the campus playground.  Overall, we had a great morning!  I can't wait to see how the pictures turn out!

Josh snapped this picture of Maren with his phone.  I think St. Kate's was the perfect place for pictures!

They didn't want to sit next to each other for professional photos, but they did this right afterward!

After pictures, we all went to Grandma Colleen's and Grandpa Dave's house, where we got to see Aunt Annie and Baby Jonah!  Both Maren and Owen are eager to "help" take care of their baby cousin.

Maren really wanted to climb in and snuggle with Jonah.

Owen got to help feed Jonah.

On Sunday, we had a play date with Jack and Annalee.  Owen and Maren loved playing in the water with their friends and went to bed early.  Everybody wins!

I think Annalee got sick of waiting for Owen to actually move the truck.

I really should have brought swim trunks for him.

Annalee considered it, but ultimately did not share her snack.  Smart girl!

The craziest kids at the party!

A Special Visit from Grandpa Will

Grandpa Will came to see us today, and he brought a semi.  Or, as Owen calls it, "tuck, tuck, tuck!"  Both kiddos were eager to check it out.

Getting the scoop from Grandpa Will.

This guy is really into cars, trucks and tractors, so he was a very happy boy!

The whole crew.

Playing Outside

It's finally summer, and, when it's not raining, we are outside!  Two toddlers running in opposite directions with little to no fear isn't exactly relaxing, but we love every minute we get to spend watching these little ones explore.

Buckets of water are a huge hit!

Owen might spend too much time watching the dog.

They love their slide! They both expect applause each time they make it down.

Snacking at their picnic table is a special treat.

We have a splash pad a few blocks from our house, and it is already a favorite summer destination.

Maren does a little splashing but doesn't like to get her face wet.

This guy is a splash pad maniac!

Walking Cooper has also become a family affair (notice my two little helpers).

On rainy days, we've found some great ways to keep ourselves busy indoors.  Our favorite is playing with the awesome interactive toys at a neighborhood library.

We tried finger painting once. . . But, I think we'll stick with the library for awhile.

Easter

Well, this Easter post is just a tad bit late, but I still wanted to post some pictures.  Owen and Maren were really excited to see their Easter Baskets this year.  They were especially excited to see balloons attached to the baskets.

The baskets have been spotted!

Checking out what the Easter Bunny brought.

Baby Cousin

Owen and Maren have a baby cousin!  They were very excited to visit Aunt Annie, Uncle Daniel and Jonah Bjorn in the hospital on Friday.

Maren is very interested in the baby and eager to help!

Owen checked him out but was more drawn to all the buttons that can be pushed in a hospital room.

Here's a close up of sweet little Jonah.

Friday Favorite

I had no idea that Cooper tearing paper would be this entertaining.

15 Months

We had our 15 month check-up today, and the doctor said that Owen and Maren are thriving!  We didn't have any concerns about them, but it still feels great to hear that.  It also feels good to put another round of shots behind us. Owen has this whole doctor thing figured out and started crying the minute we entered the clinic.  He fought his way through the whole appointment but was happy as soon as we made it home. Poor little guy!  Maren, on the other hand, just sat back and took it all in.  Our stoic little observer cried when she got her second shot but was instantly distracted by a sparkly band-aid.  She continues to be a little wiggle worm when being measured, however, because her stats show that she is shorter now than she was at her 12 month appointment.  Maybe we'll get an accurate height at her 18 month appointment.

Here are their 15 month stats:

And, here are some pictures of our 15 month olds!

They have both started to enjoy looking at books by themselves (note: the book is upside down).

Showing off some adorable hand-me-downs from Annalee.

Feeding Maren's baby.  They both feed the baby every day.

Rolling a ball back and forth is one of Owen's favorite things to do lately.
